Pioneer? July 10, 2010 Pioneer? Takes forever to load a Bluy Ray disc. I'm too the point where I'm starting to think this think is broke. Point being is that the technology with Blue Ray has a ways to go yet with performance. Thinking about trying out some other players to compare.
Picture and sound quality is good. Appearance of the player is also good.
Pioneer's updates may break your machine May 18, 2010 Craig J. Yeager 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a pioneer Blu Ray player. It is now 1year 2 moths old and out of warranty. I updated the firmware to watch Avatar and now the machine will not work. I am told by Pioneer support that this is a common problem and can only be fixed by sending the machine back to have the firmware reinstalled by Pioneer. The cost is a minimum of $70 evaluation plus shipping. I cannot recommend this product that is at risk of being broken each time firm ware is updated.
works great...for what i use it for... April 24, 2010 Patrick J. Market I have this player on a tube TV...so in not sure of the visual performance...I'm using the fibre optic output and the sound is amazing! Great buy! Plays scratched discs but not burnt discs. Setup was a little difficult but you have a lot of options for custom set up. And in my opinion...since its pioneer...it will last forever!
Better then My other BD player April 18, 2010 Glenn Miller (Ca,USA) I bought this player to replace my new Magnavox BD player my grand daughter broke. This one has a better picture and much nicer and user friendly menu...setup was a breeze. It is slighty slower loading then the Mag but we buy these for picture quality...right? I did have a problem with the remote....I programed the product code for my TV into the remote but it's not fully functional...it will turn the TV on/off and control the volume and the channel up/down but it will not select input so I still have to use the TV remote (remember this is only for my TV). I also had a problem with the vendor,Electronics expo, but if you would like to read their, one star review,I suggest you check them out here on this site as they are one of Amazon's 3rd party sellers.
Pioneer BDP-120 Blu-ray Disc Player Excellent Product February 7, 2010 Annie M. Rountree 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent product, makes even the image on a regular DVD brighter and sharper. The remote is very easy to operate. The pause function is superb. The image looks as clear as a still shot. Even the sound that is liked to the surround system is sharper. Many times we have heard a knock or a whisper and thought there was someone actually behind us. It was not difficult to set up. Looked at many manufactures before deciding on the Pioneer BDP-120 1080P Blu-ray Disc Player. We choose the right product.
