This is a super player as to video, passing 24 fps, etc. It's one weakness is it's start-up time. Like so many other players before it, the average time period from "On" to the start-up of video can be as long as 1 minute, but most BD movies are averaging approx. 40 seconds. Other than that, for the price, it's super!

Comparing this to my Sony s360, it is a little slower on playing any disc, only by a few seconds to me it really doesn`t matter. The picture quality on blu-ray is outstanding, regular disc up converts better than my Sony. My opinion where this player shines is on the audio side,on my surround sound I hear noises i`ve never heard before it sounds great.

Blu Ray player technology if now becoming "mature." Basically that means that good function is pretty much the norm and that prices are dropping. The Pioneer BPD-320, which is now selling for about $150, is a perfect example of this. Its sound and picture are excellent, its construction reasonably solid, and the differences between this mid-priced player and far more expensive models relatively small.
I chose the Pioneer BPD-320 from among the host of available models based on three considerations: 1) It has 7.1 analog outs. This enables a user with an appropriately configured AV Receiver to benefit from Blu Rays uncompressed multi-channel soundtracks without a "handshake capable" HDMI input monitor or projector. 2) The Pioneer looks fine, unlike many technically equivalent players (such as those my Sony and Samsung) that have a cheap consumer goods look and feel. And 3), price. A "bargain" when first released at about $300, the player is now a super bargain at about half that price. (I bought it at Amazon for $129 during one of their quickie sales). What a deal! :)
The player is everything I hoped it to be, and a bit more. Some here have complained about its slowness. I do not find that to be a problem. Blu Ray players are computers that need to 'boot up' and load programs, not instant-on devices such as a radio or a standard DVD player. With the updated firmware that is now standard on newly delivered players (and uploadable on older 320s) loading time is reasonable and command response time quite good if not excellent.
The Picture is clear and excellent. And the BPD-320s adjustment capability puts it ahead of the pack for serious videophiles with the knowledge, capability and tools to go for picture perfection.
7.1 analog outs and a good quality internal decoder makes for extraordinary sound - again, for the owner willing and able to use the available adjustment perimeters. (Folks who prefer to 'plug and play' will have nothing to complain about either.)
To this add Pioneer brand quality, durability and prestige and the BPD-320 comes out an absolute winner.

Ive been wating to get a blu ray player with wi fi, but couldnt find a player for the price range i was looking for, even the pioneer elite didnt have the wifi option, so i bought this. Ive hooked this up to a onkyo 100 watts 7.1 receiver, listening to linear pcm and then to dts hd master aduio was awsome. If your using your ps3 as your blu ray player, you ll notice that you have to crank the volume up a bit more, as linear pcm is louder, but the sound quality is better when you listen to dts hd master audio, and picuture quality is sharper and brighther than the ps3.Overall this is a good blu ray player for the price range, eventhough i wish they had wifi.
Cons : Player is slower than the ps3 (a few seconds delay)

The image quality and sound quality are excellent after updating the firmware, much better than LG BD390 which I bought last year (BD390 was dead after five months). The 320 is slow and no netflix streaming, but acceptable. I do care much about PQ, AQ and stability.
