Soon after purchasing this player I wrote a favorable review and almost immediately got a unhelpful vote. I thought maybe I was rushing to judgment so I removed the review. We've now had the unit for several months and have used it often for standard, HD and Blu-ray DVDs as well as Internet Netflix movies. Every mode works as advertised. I even downloaded updated firmware without a problem.
My only criticism is that the player loads somewhat slowly. Blu-ray DVDs must be in excellent condition or they will not load, but that is typical of the breed.

Samsung sent me the BD-P1600 to replace an earlier model that was rendered useless by their firmware upgrade. I played 3 movies on it just fine then it quit working. I WILL NEVER buy a Samsung product ever again.

Brought it new from amazon.com arrived as promised on time. Was busy so it remained in the box for 3 weeks before setup. brought new cables, also brought a rosewill wireless adapter from newegg, installation was a breeze with the adapter. The newflix and pandora, and youtube is wicked. The tray movement is a little noisy, that why i gave 4 stars. Have not tried bluray yet,but soon. I will recommend this product.

We purchased this product for a family member. It had everything that we wanted; blu-ray playing capabilities, netflix, youtube, etc. Having an unlimited netflix streaming account, we are able to watching netflix movies when we run out of blu-rays to watch. With an unlimited choice of television shows and movies, one will never run out of things to watch. The high-definition netflix shows were great. Blu-rays also looked outstanding on this tv. With the available ethernet port on this player, we were able to experience the whole Blu-ray experience with BD-Live.

Bought this player during holiday season and it required a firmware update right out of the box. After purchasing the $75 wireless dongle and updating, the wireless capabilities quit working. I called the Samsung customer service and they said they would send me a cd with the old firmware version on it. Waited 4 weeks for that to arrive and it was the updated version that caused the problems. I called customer service again, and was told they were aware of the issue but could not send the older version in the mail due to "company policy." So they are aware that they are sending "bad" software to their customers? and still doing it. They are making me send the player back to them with the estimated time of 5 weeks to fix!!! It's just a firmware issue! Customer service gave me no answers to my questions and could not have seemed less concerned that their was a huge firmware problem on their product. I will never buy nor recommend Samsung. Horrible!!!
